Unidentified man in band or militia uniform, hat with plume, with scarf or cravat. Holding a bell-up Bb bass horn with Berlin valves. No plate markings. Plain gold mat. Probably mid 1840's to mid 1850's.

Unidentified Federal bearded soldier wearing kepi and frock coat. Holding an over-the-shoulder cornet with rotary valves. Painted camp scene backdrop. Damage to emulsion probably caused by glass breakage. No plate markings. Fancy gold mat. 1860's.

Double case with two photos. Left is unidentified bearded man holding an unusual cornet with three Paine rotary valves. Dressed in civilian frock coat, vest, chain, high collar and cravat. Right is a women in a dark dress, narrow long capped sleeves, chain, broach, earrings and lace collar holding a rolled peice of paper. Plain gold mats.

Unidentified Federal soldier wearing frock coat and kepi. Holding an over-the-shoulder Eb bass horn with four rotary valves. Fourth valve lever played by left hand. Round shield on bell. Photographed in front of plain backdrop or wall. Probably 1860's. Still sealed in its case with gold mat.

Unidentified seated musician. In plaquard front shirt, wearing cravat, a heavy chain and pin at throat. Hat has horn emblem, and hat band reads "Deluge No. 1". Belt reads "C C BAND". Possibly a fireman's band. Holding over-the-shoulder alto horn with Berlin piston valves. No plate markings. Mounted in a card stock matte with a paper back.

Reverse bears a cancelled two cent stamp. Reads: "From E. S. Walker's, No. 27 South High Street, Columbus Ohio". Written in ink: "Peter Chandra, 4th Regt. NY V.V., Aliance, Ohio".

Unidentified clean-shaven man in civilian clothes, large cravat. The gold mat has flags, drums and cannon embossed. Under the plate it reads: "The Union Now and Forever". Opposite the image is a pad covered in red velvet embossed with a large lyre. Presumably a Federal musician. In an original Union case marked: "Genuine Union Case, Improved, Fine Gilt and Burnished, Scovill Mfg Co."

A shepherd's crook cornet, unidentified cornet, clarinet, bass drum and snare drum are visible. At least 10 musicians, with civilians and soldiers in background. On reverse: "G. W. Beal, Photographer, Post Office Building, No. Main Street, Natick". Late 3rd or early 4th quarter 19th century.

Musician's pouch made of leather dyed black. Fastened with strap over brass post. Two brass loops at sides for shoulder strap (not present). Large, embossed plate on flap of lyre and musical instruments, surrounded by olive and oak leaves. Sides re-inforced by wood panels on the inside of the pouch.
