On a steamy summer day in 1988, following a performance of the 1st
Brigade Band, a few of us sat down to discuss the possibility of hosting
an autumnal Military Ball. Fueled by the esprit de corps that
follows every performance (and with judgment perhaps dulled by sunstroke
and dehydration), we scheduled the Ball just a few months hence.
With unbridled optimism, we declared the event "The First Annual Harvest
Benefit Ball".
Every autumn since, as hill and forest celebrate the completed year
with a burst of color, we of Heritage Military Music Foundation and the
1st Brigade Band celebrate another year of Making History Live
with the Harvest Ball. This year, we are especially pleased to
request the honor of your presence at the 21st Annual Harvest Ball!
Whether you are an old friend eagerly anticipating this twentieth
reunion, or a new friend we have yet to meet, we promise you a special
evening of exceptional music, warm camaraderie, exhilarating dance,
tasty hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, valuable door prizes... and
undoubtedly a bit of tom foolery.
As always, period dress is encouraged but not required. COME
SHARE THE DANCE!!!
